Our beautiful lake instills a sense of “place” for all its residents. We love the changing seasons and relish a deep feeling of harmonious living with nature. It’s central to our lives. Friends of Kootenay Lake Stewardship Society is dedicated to sustaining a healthy lake for us and for all our children and grandchildren. Seasonally, we are active with local monitoring, cleaning up our beaches, caring for our watersheds and restoring habitats fish and other wildlife. We invite school groups and residents to come along and share the experience.We believe we need to work together to preserve the lake’s culture and spiritual essence through our local communities, First Nations, and other stakeholders.
