The Rossland Museum staff are excited to announce a new partnership with the not-for-profit State of the Snowpack, a group that connects the Rossland community with local snow science experts in an effort to decrease backcountry avalanche incidents, casualties, and rescues through the sharing of detailed community-specific snowpack analysis.
Originally based in Nelson, State of the Snowpack is now expanding into Rossland and will be holding regular events to discuss the snow conditions in Rossland’s home snowpack. Find out more about this group at www.stateofthesnowpack.com
The first Rossland meeting will be held at the museum on Tuesday, January 18. For details and instructions on how to register, sign up for the museum newsletters or follow them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. Find all the contact information on their website: www.rosslandmuseum.ca
