Kaslo and area’s local hospice society (Hospice Society of North Kootenay Lake) serves the entire RDCK area from Ainsworth, Kaslo and north beyond Meadow Creek. Hospice palliative care is dedicated to relief of suffering and improving the quality of life for people and their families who are living with or dying from advanced illness, and anyone experiencing grief and loss. Everyone is most welcome to contact us directly for information and services. Support is provided free of charge.
The hospice society also offers community education and information. Upcoming events planned this year are Green Burial, Grief Support, Advance Care Planning and four short educational sessions aimed at increasing knowledge and comfort for community members dealing with end of life or loss in the lives of themselves, family or friends. Being informed and knowledgeable can help in maintaining dignity and control throughout all stages of life.
The work of our hospice is to be in service to others and is largely done by highly trained and skilled volunteers, the hardworking board of directors and our executive director.
All are invited to attend our Annual General Meeting on Saturday, March 6, 10 am, via Zoom. To become a member or to register for the AGM please call us at 250 353 2299, email hospice@kaslo.org or visit www.hsnkl.org for more information.
The Hospice Society of North Kootenay Lake is very grateful to our volunteers and members, to those who have donated financial gifts and supported us with grants including CBT, SOSJ, BC Gaming, CFNKL and IHA.
