Thanks to our donors, supporters and team volunteers, through your advocacy, time and input, the West Kootenay EcoSociety has reached an important milestone. We are proud to share the draft West Kootenay 100% Renewable Energy Plan, a collaboration with the nine local governments that have committed to 100% renewable energy by 2050: Castlegar, Kaslo, Nelson, New Denver, Slocan, Silverton, Rossland, Warfield & the RDCK.
The draft plan is ready for the next level of your input. You can help identify the priority areas that will make your community healthier and safer with a more stable economy.
How do you think we can make sure public transit, safe bike lanes and sidewalks, and electric vehicles are accessible? Let your local government know you support renewable energy being the priority in your town for healthier and safer people in next year’s budget, and each year after.
We need everyone to complete the renewable energy plan next steps online survey: to make sure your voice is heard.
People like you are making great strides in the transition to renewable energy in the West Kootenay that benefit your very own community. Keep up the momentum to create more opportunities for you, your family and neighbours.
For community collaboration,
David Reid, Renewable Energy Engagement Director
