Beaver Mountain Snowmobile Association shelter The RDKB board approved allocation of $5,000 in Gas Tax funding from Electoral Area A to the Beaver Mountain Snowmobile Association in Fruitvale. The not-for-profit society will build a multi-season backcountry shelter on their Crown Land tenure, as approved by the Government of B.C. Construction will begin in May 2021 and take place in stages, ending in October 2021. The shelter will provide outdoor enthusiasts with a place to warm up, rest and relax while they enjoy a safe, environmentally- and family-friendly backcountry experience.

Beaver Valley Curling Club kitchen reno
The RDKB board approved allocation of $15,000 in Gas Tax funding from Electoral Area A to the Beaver Valley Curling Club for a new kitchen stove ventilation system to meet BC Building Code and NFPA 96 (National Fire Protection Association) standards required by building insurers. The upgrade will include new Vent Hood System, Fire Suppression system and Makeup Air Unit. The project will begin in early spring and end in October before startup of the next curling season. In typical non-pandemic times, the Curling Club hosts four bonspiels each curling season and provides breakfasts, lunches and dinners for competitors and spectators. The building is available for rentals to the community during the off-season.
