Patrick Marsolek and wife Lori Mitchell return to Nelson.

Local tangueros, as well as all dancers, will be delighted to know that the talented Patrick Marsolek and his wife Lori Mitchell will be returning to Nelson April 20 through April 22, for a weekend workshop of tango instruction and dancing.

The weekend offers five classes beginning on Friday evening with a potluck dinner at the newly refurbished Taghum Hall, followed by an introductory level class and a practica (practice dance). In addition there are two classes on both Saturday and Sunday plus a Saturday evening Milonga (dance). Several classic elements of the tango will be revisited with new variations and refined techniques that promise to take your dance to a new level. Don’t miss this chance to learn from this knowledgeable and engaging pair.

A special highlight at the Saturday night Milonga is a short set of live music by Ala Parilla – a debut performance by Aiko Jackson of Kaslo on keyboards, David Feldman of Nelson on violin and Patrick Marsolek from Missoula, playing the unique bandoneon (the signature tango instrument) for our dancing pleasure. Registration is required, please contact franwallis@redmtn.ca or call 250-358-2448 for further information.
