The cast of ‘Bohemians in Brooklyn’.

The Rossland Council for Arts and Culture (RCAC) is pleased to announce ‘Bohemians in Brooklyn’ a live musical cabaret written and produced by CBC’s Tom Allen, taking place at the Miners Hall on Thursday, April 26.

‘Bohemians in Brooklyn’ mixes original songs, classical chamber music, history, storytelling and some very salty gossip and features the stellar cast of singer Patricia O’Callaghan, singer and pianist Bryce Kulak, harpist Lori Gemmell and Tom Allen as the narrator and trombonist.

‘Bohemians in Brooklyn’ tells the story of the brownstone in 1940’s Brooklyn where WH Auden, Benjamin Britten, Carson McCullers and Gypsy Rose Lee all lived together in their legendary art commune, in creative and chaotic harmony.

This musical answers the question: what happens when a poet, an author, a composer, his lover and a book loving stripper all move into the same house in quiet, wartime Brooklyn? Arguments, indulgence, infestation, questionable relationships of every description, a murder mystery and lots of juicy gossip! “We feel very fortunate to host performers of this calibre here in Rossland. This show is a must-see for any fans of musicals, plays, cabaret and social history,” said Theshini Naicker, president of RCAC.

Tickets for the performance are $25 and available at Out of the Cellar in Rossland and online at www.rosslandartscouncil.com Doors open at 7 pm and the show starts at 7:30 pm. See you there!
